Psymposia is a research and media 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers critical perspectives on drugs, politics, and culture. Years of reporting on the psychedelic industry taught us how billionaires shape public narratives and policy decisions to serve their class interests. We now apply that lens to other areas where concentrated wealth shapes public life.

We know how the billionaire playbook works because they used it on us and lost. After we exposed clinical trial corruption to the FDA, the drug’s backers ran a campaign to discredit us that resulted in a hit piece in The New York Times. We answered with The Psychedelic Syndicate, an investigation that used the funders’ own internal documents to expose their role in the campaign. We also co-produced Cover Story: Power Trip with New York Magazine and Vox Media, and our work has been featured in The Guardian, Vice, The Nation, Business Insider, The Daily Beast, Wired, ABC’s Four Corners, CBC, and more.
