[00:00] Is this going on? Like did Bagot just dox himself like revealing that he was running AI bots? You guys wrote in your report that one of these supporters correct me if I'm wrong on this. At one point experimentally created an AI botnet that was trained on Hamilton Morris's online comments to go and attack basically attack like anybody saying nice things about Psymposia. Normie and Pace had the actual conversation with him, but I just wanted to preface it with this was a guy named Matt Bagot who runs a company called Tacten, which for a long time we had had a fairly open what I thought was a pretty good relationship with Matt and he's like kind had been kind of on board with a lot of leftist critiques for a long time and was willing to discuss that stuff and like he had this kind of model for an MDMA analog company through tact which was kind of pioneering some alternative vision to the MAPS therapy

[01:02] Model where he wanted to create sort of he kind of reluctantly in his narrative of it went for profit wanted to create these MDMA analoges but experiment on the efficacy of them as a take-home drug kind of like what we were saying so I when I first started talking to Matt I was like that's kind of an interesting idea as an alternative vision to this map space. He he'd been involved with maps for a long time prior to that. So, he had a lot of connections with them. But then I'll let you guys fill in the rest of the details on the bots though. This that was our original relationship with Matt. I'm going to dovetail just real quick on some of the things that that Russ said, but I did host Matt Bagot as a guest speaker for my students because I said, you know, in the corporadelic world I want to be fair.

[01:58] I want to represent these ideas, you know, in a fair way. And yeah, I invited Matt to speak. He's a neuroscientist. And the sort of gambit of tacttogen as Russ was talking about is to actually what we're going to patent something, but it's going to be like a new drug that perhaps functions in a way different and maybe better than MDMA for certain use cases. Well, look, like Norm, do you want to give us some background here? Tell us what happened. I knew Matt. I knew Matt for a while. Went out to dinner with him a couple years ago. Oh, I thought Matt was one of the good guys. He'd always been cool with me. He was one of the you know the one of the insiders, one of the real researchers who went on to found a psychedelic company.

[02:52] I stayed in contact with them. Not super close contact, but I, you know, I' I'd be in contact with them. And while we're getting like hit in the [expletive] mouth through this sort of octopuslike funded PSFC campaign like you know Pace had I think pointed it out earlier last year. Who like who the [expletive] is this account on Reddit? It it's just spewing nonsense. It was hyper posting a bunch of critical Psymposia content. We were aware of this Reddit account, right? and we thought we had thought it was somebody else. And then fast forward to last I want to say it was like October, November, some point around there.

[03:40] Yeah, that's about right. Yeah. So, there's this Reddit thread that that starts spewing like a bunch of [expletive] and essentially Matt Bagot he doxed himself. Yeah, he had posted. What happened was his AI bot account was posting and then he responded to that like he made another comment but he like what I think happened is he logged into like his other account, his real account. He forgot commented on it. He commented as his main when he was supposed to be his alt. I was talking to like a few people behind the scenes.

[04:25] I was like sending messages like is this like real? Is this going on? Like did Bagot just dox himself like revealing that he was running AI bots? He changed the he put in after he kind of got exposed for it. He like put in the account bio unfiltered alt of Matt Bagot. And I think was that when we reached out? It seemed like she felt like guilty or something like the way that you it was like Let me I'll tell you. So I emailed and I said like, "Hey, I found like can we talk about like this burner account?" And so we ended up hopping on a call and yeah, he like actually felt super bad about the whole thing.

[05:14] I think it's cuz he was caught. And I told him like, "Dude, we're getting hammered here from all directions by like these wellfunded people. We were getting hit by Dan Krenshaw, by Elon Musk. RFK is retweeting. Dan Krenshaw produced a video about us." Anyways, like yeah, Bag admitted to it and I said I was like, "Hey man, like your posts sound it's all the same talking points as Hamilton Morris." And Matt was like, "Yeah, exactly." And so, like, he was training the LLM on Hamilton's content, which was then spewing even more [expletive] online that a Reddit user had no idea like wasn't a real person. And I was like, dude, this has consequences.

[06:00] Like, you're contributing to this [expletive] right now. And I remember the whole thing was really I was like, are you saying that like you you're doing AI on us like and then he was like well I may have experimented with a an custom LLM and trained on Hamilton Morris and it's like you what look the whole thing was really like completely disorienting and yeah very surreal you know this was someone who I thought was actually one of the good guys in the space only to find out he's like kicking us when we're down and it felt that that felt really shitty. And I think it's really important when we did our report for people to understand that there is a CEO who is who was talking about treating people for mental health on one hand and on the other hand he is running AI bots against people who he doesn't like to smear them and put disinformation and

[07:02] I'm sorry if he's embarrassed now which he is. And so the micro dose emailed him and his comment. I don't know if you get the exact quote, Russ. Yeah, I do. This is the update we ended up writing into the piece, but Bagot didn't return Psymposia's request for comment before publication. In a subsequent statement to the micro dose, Bagot described his use of AI chat bots on Reddit as a tiny experiment I ran. He characterized Psymposia's reporting of his use of AI to disseminate misinformation as quote rehashing Biden era disputes. Bizarre.
